I LOVE SEWING!

I just love it when a project turns out as well as you hoped! I decided to make a gift for my daughter to give to one of her close friends on her birthday. I must say that I really enjoyed sewing this skirt! The pattern is called Snowflake Skirt by Butterfly Kisses. It was so easy to follow and was quick to make. Best of all, I used fabric from my stash! Wahoo, I really do use my fabric :) This pattern is a must have for your collection! (For all of our out-of-State customers, I will add this to the website as soon as possible!)

I am in love with the hand-made cards that we recently started carrying. Each one is so unique. One series of cards look like aprons, who can resist that? Day Five of Favorite Things Week

Today's giveaway is a bundle of 5 fat quarters from the Lecian line Flower Sugar (polka dot's shown here).

Okay, so I am obsessed with fabric. I like to look at it, I like to touch and even caress it, I love to hold it, and well you get the idea. So to choose my "favorite thing" is nearly impossible. I cannot choose just one thing, that would be like choosing between my own children for the "favorite child"! So I have to say that every new fabric line that comes through the door is my "favorite thing," at least until the next day, when even more fabric comes! But, for the last several days there have been a few fabrics that continue to call to me, "Holly, you need to buy me! You need to make something with me!" They are sending very strong messages :) So here is a look at a couple of them. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do! You also must ssee the cutest grey/blue fabric with tiny monkeys on it....to die for!

Day Four of Favorite Things Week

The first day the Original Purple Gypsy Gripper came into the store, I loved it!! I bought one that first day to use at home. It makes the ruler so easy to pick up and to find on the cutting table. It also makes the ruler so much easier on my arthritic hands. I just push down, instead of having to hold my fingers in a cramped position. Also, there are no cut finger tips with the Gypsy Gripper!

Day Three of Favorite Things Week

One of my favorite items is Best Press by Mary Ellen, the clear starch alternative. I do a lot of applique and this product is perfect to prepare my applique pieces. It dries clear with no powdery residue, and comes in several pleasant scents. A small spray gives a lovely, smooth finish; which is great when my applique blocks are done and I want to give them a crisp look. I also love to iron my fat quarters with a light spray of this product, because it makes the cutting more precise.

I love this product so much, that I now buy it by the gallon and use it on all my ironing at home!

Day Two of Favorite Things Week

Let's see, hmmmm......my favorite item. That is a hard decision for me, because I love all my notions! The newest thing we have in the store is a 2 1/2" x 18 1/2" non-slip Creative Grid ruler. I love smaller rulers like this one, because they are so easy to grab and not as cumbersome (big word) to use. It is also good to replace your rulers once in a while to make sure you have sharp edges. Sometimes I cut a little shaving off the edges when I am cutting - purely accidental (ha, ha!).

Day One of Favorite Things Week

My favorite new item is the Autumn Cottage Frame Up kit by Pine Mountain Designs. The Spring and Summer Cottage kits were my previous favorites :) It has always been my dream to live in a cottage nestled in the woods. So I just stitch up these quick, darling cottages and "go to my happy place." Don't you want to come along too?

We just breceived the new be Merry fabric from Riley Blake Designs and it absolutely delicious! When it was shown we could not decide between the flannel and flat cotton so we decided on both! Can you just imagine being wrapped in this darling fabric. It truly is Merry!

Look What Arrived Today....

Well, we have been anxiously awaiting this fabric line and it finally arrived! Gobble Gobble by Sandy Gervais for Moda. There are some absolutely beautiful pieces in this line and they will be made into some pretty incredible things. Stay tuned to see what is in store!
